Called She Is The Winner, the gig will feature 10 female artistes, each of whom have composed a song on womanhood. The eclectic mix of artistes, who will be performing at the one-hour long webcert, includes sufi, jazz, pop and classical fusion talent in the form of Hema Sardesai, Suneeta Rao, Manasi Scott, Shibani Kashyap, Kavita Seth, Ritika Sahni, Kuhoo Gupta, Shefali Alvares, Himani Kapoor and Sunali Rathod.

The concert moniker is also a song composed by Sardesai, who is also a women’s activist. “Female liberation is a cause I feel strongly about. In order to create an environment of equality, women themselves have to do something about it. ‘She is the winner…’ is a song that represents that feeling,” says Sardesai.

Kashyap, whose album, My Free Spirit, has been nominated for the IMA awards, is excited about the webcert. “I will be performing a song from My Free Spirit,” she says.

Catch She Is The Winner on www.ArtistAloud.com between 4 pm and 5 pm on March 8. The show will also be available for streaming on YouTube.
