Two of the world’s biggest pop-sensations, Justin Bieber and David Guetta, have collaborated for the first time and dropped a new song on Friday called 2U. The thrilling and pulsating track is set to join the Billboad Hot 100 chart along with Bieber’s other two smash hit songs, DJ Khaled’s collab-stacked I’m the One and his feature-fuelled remix of Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee’s Despacito.
“I’m very proud to finally share a record with him. I feel like 2U is an incredible combination of emotion energy with a huge melody combined with edgy sounds,” says Guetta about Bieber in a Billboard Magazine article.
“It’s just a very romantic love song,” Guetta told MTV. “What I’m trying to do here is a combination of emotional parts and the energy of crazy electronic dance beats. That’s what I do, and that’s what I like. I like making the people dance, but with a tear in their eyes,” he said.
Bieber has been teasing the song to his fans on Twitter since Wednesday with glimpses from the music video featuring Victoria’s Secret’s models.
Spending more weeks at Number 1 and Number 2 than any other artist this decade, Bieber, according to Guetta, has taken “some risks reinventing himself lately in such a cool amazing creative way.”
