Maybe that special someone will find me soon: Sophie

Singer Sophie Choudry is glad that she can sing, act and perform on stage without any fear.

Singer - actor-anchor Sophie Choudry has just released a new track, Sajan Main Nachungi that talks about the fun a girl has on her bachelorette night. The song has been creating buzz ever since she tweeted the first look on Twitter, because her picture leaning against a man with the caption ‘can’t wait’, gave people the idea that she’s getting married. But Sophie says, “Right now I am married to Sajan Main Naachungi. When the real thing has to happen, it will happen. I think I have already sent the message out to the world. Maybe that special someone will come find me soon.”

Singer Sophie Choudry is glad that she can multi-task.

Apart from singing, the 34-year-old has acted in films such as Shaadi No.1 (2005), I See You (2005) and Once Upon A Time in Mumbai Dobaara! (2013) and also does a lot of stage shows. “I love to multi-task. I don’t have to rely on any one’s talent and that is the reason why I have been able to sustain myself and create the little niche. For a girl who has come from abroad, to make that little space for herself and still cause excitement when she comes out with a new song, feels good,” says Choudry, who was born and brought up in Britain.

“People don’t realise that the live show market in our country is massive and I am proud of myself for being a performer. One of the reasons why I have to made a brand for myself is because I am a singer – performer. My tracks have a special brand attached to themselves. If I have been able to survive here without any Godfather or crazy controversies, it is because I am the busiest singer- performer. I am forever performing for corporate, weddings or awards. These make me financially independent and there no better place than being on the stage,” she says.
