Bandish Projekt has announced an online music contest, inviting aspiring producers to remix one of their tracks. The winner will be featured in their upcoming EP, Correkt Remixed, which will release worldwide on Folktronic, a label started by Sony Music, in October 2011. The winner will also win a free Soundcloud Pro account.

“The aim is to have make producers a part of my project because as an artiste, I feel I need to communicate. The contest even allows bedroom producers to submit their work,” says Mayur Narvekar, who spearheads the outfit.Mayur has already received 10 entries, and expects the number to rise as the contest nears its closing date, August 31. Ask him if he is looking for something in particular, and he says, “The contest is open to any genre and the producers are free to reflect their point of view. The winning track must be current, yet have a futuristic appeal.”

The winner will be announced on September 5. Says Jayesh Veralkar, head, Day 1, Sony Music Entertainment, “The concept of bedroom production is growing bigger, proving that one doesn’t need a fancy studio to create music. Through this contest, we’re letting a known artiste decide the best track by an aspiring producers as against a label doing so. We will also be giving the winner a worldwide release.”
