Singer Neha Bhasin loves to experiment with her style of music and is not afraid of taking risks or going the extra mile to give her fans “something new” to listen to. Her independent singles so far saw her doing everything, right from the composition to the lyrics. But, her latest single Belihaziyan — which talks about heartbreak in a relationship, and was released on Tuesday, only uses her vocal prowess.

Singer Neha Bhasin released her latest single, Belihaziyan on Tuesday.

“I wanted to do something different, and not necessarily get into all the details of it. When this song came, it was a beautifully worded song, uses beautiful Urdu words and I immediately wanted to sing it,” says Neha, who is known for her Bollywood songs such as Jag Ghoomeya (Sultan, 2016) Dhunki (Mere Brother Ki Dulhan, 2011) and Kuch Khaas (Fashion, 2008).

The 34-year-old singer adds, “The song is about how one partner can mercilessly just leave the other one heartbroken, and there is no regard. It is about that pain. Finally, a song which is not inspired by my past experiences (laughs).

“But jokes apart, a lot of people can relate to the pain. I hope it strikes a chord with people, and they like it, like they have liked all of my previous songs,” she says.

Although Neha loves the concept of albums, she feels they are a waste of time.

“I love the concept of albums, and I love owning albums. But, no one wants to listen to albums anymore, and no one wants to work on them anymore. Only a few singles off an album really work, and the rest of the songs, feel like such a waste. The best thing right now to do is, release singles, and then compile them all together in an album,” she says.
