The 36-song soundtrack, a two-disc set titled Isles of Wonder, is currently topping the iTunes album charts in Belgium, Britain, France and Spain. It's reached No. 5 in the US.

The music-filled ceremony, with score production by Underworld's Rick Smith, became available as a downloadable album with tracks from punk to rap, and from David Bowie to the Chemical Brothers. The opening segments featured a variety of rock music offering a celebration of British sounds, including tracks from the Pet Shop Boys, Dizzee Rascal, Emeli Sande, and Underworld.

U2 is also featured on the album with the hit Where the Streets Have No Name, Michael Oldfield with Tubular Bells and A.R. Rahman with Nimma Nimma.

On August 6, Universal will release a recording on the Decca Records label. Universal will also record the August 12 closing ceremony, which will feature music from The Who.
