The government has lined up 50 ministers and assigned them the locations where they will participate during the celebrations on Tuesday.

Union home minister Rajnath Singh will be commemorating the day in Lucknow while finance minister Arun Jaitley will do the same in Mumbai. Parliamentary affairs minister M Venkaiah Naidu will take charge of the celebrations in the national capital while defence minister Manohar Parrikar and HRD minister Smriti Irani will take part in celebrations in Kanpur and Bhopal respectively.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will perform yoga on the day in Chandigarh.

Minister of state for parliamentary affairs Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi told reporters that there should not be any politics on health. The people, who indulge in politics on the issue of health, are politically bankrupt. Thus, they must perform yoga, he said.

The central government has also asked all paramilitary forces to assign 1,000 personnel for Yoga Day celebrations at 27 state capitals. The field formations of the forces will also celebrate Yoga Day at the location of their deployment.
