ARA: Sangeeta Devi, widow of felled Havildar Ashok Kumar Singh, snubbed the Bihar government by initially refusing to accept its ex gratia amount of Rs 5 lakh for the state’s Army bravehearts. She said, “Bihar sarkar bhikhari hai (Bihar government is a pauper).” Within hours of her refusing the cheque, the government increased the amount to Rs 11 lakh, which she accepted.
