SRINAGAR: Suspected militants opened fire on a police station in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Tuesday evening. No one was hurt in the attack, police said. Officials said the policemen guarding the Yaripora police station retaliated, forcing the militants to retreat. “Some gunmen opened fire on the Yaripora police station. Our men were also alert and they retaliated effectively. The exchange of fire continued for a minute or so,” said Kulgam SP Shridhar Patel. He said no policeman was hurt in the incident. Senior police officials rushed to the spot as a manhunt was launched to track the attackers.
