AHMEDABAD: A special SIT court deferred to Friday its judgment on the quantum of sentence in the Gulberg Society massacre that killed 69 people, including former Congress MP Ehsan Jafri, during the 2002 Gujarat riots. Ahmedabad special sessions court judge PB Desai convicted 24 of the 66 accused, including Vishwa Hindu Parishad leader Atul Vaidya, but rejected the charge of conspiracy. The court adjudged 11 guilty of murder and 13 guilty of lesser crime.
