Fire at cracker factory in Sahibabad leaves 1 dead, 1 injured
A fire at a crackers’ factory in Farrukhnagar area of Sahibabad left one dead and one other critically injured on Friday. The incident occurred at around 8 am and the cause of the fire is still unknown.

The deceased, Imran, 36, is a resident of Farrukhnagar and died on spot. Another worker at the factory, Umesh,18, a resident of Asalatpur area of Farrukhnagar is still under treatment at GTB Hospital.
Police officials from Sahibabad police station and Loni police station reached the spot at around 8.30 am.
“There were two people present at the spot when the fire started. As many as three fire tenders are at spot to extinguish the fire,” said Anoop Singh, circle officer, Sahibabad.
The cracker’s factory located in Asalatpur village of Farrukhnagar is a licensed permanent factory and its manufactured crackers are sold all over Ghaziabad and nearby cities.
According to fire officials, the incident was reported at 8.10 am.
“We received information at 8.10 am and three fire tenders were rushed to the spot.The fire has been extinguished and it is still unclear what caused it,” said AK Sharma, chief fire officer, Ghaziabad.
Police said that the crackers were at the godown of the factory when the incident occurred.
“The crackers were being packed at the godown and ready to set out for sale when the incident occurred. It is still unclear as to how many people were present at the factory at the time of incident. More details will be revealed after further investigation,” said Anil Yadav, circle officer, Loni.
He added that the factory is owned by a Farrukhnagar resident Naeem. An FIR will be lodged on the basis of a complaint filed by family members.
“Even if the family members do not give a complaint, we will lodge an FIR according to what is found in the investigation,” added Yadav.
