Acting on a tip-off, Indirapuram police reached Vaishali colony and nabbed the students -- Aashish, Neel, Shubham and Abhishek -- all hailing from Noida, said deputy superintendent, Indirapuram, Atul Yadav.

While checking their bags, police recovered a tiger pelt from their possession and after interrogation, all of them confessed they were going to sell it, Yadav said.

The forest department has assessed the value of the skin around Rs 6 lakh, he added.
