Man dies after cardiac arrest on train, family alleges delay in aid
The man was declared dead as soon as he was brought down from the train at Dadri.
A 58-year-old passenger died of a cardiac arrest in Dadri after he allegedly failed to receive medical aid while travelling in a train on Saturday night. His body was sent for an autopsy.

Police said Shiv Prasad, boarded the Hatiya-Anand Vihar express train for Ranchi at Anand Vihar railway station. The family members have alleged that there was a delay in providing him medical aid.
The government railway police (GRP) is looking into the incident, which occurred just ahead of Dadri.
“When my father got out of the train at the Dadri station he was still breathing. However, it took a long while before a doctor showed up. Had the response been more timely, my father would still be alive,” the victim’s daughter, Rekha Devi, said.
She also said according to her younger sister, who was travelling with her father, their were a lot of people around, including police. However, none of them came forward to help.
The family is however, not filing a complaint with the police.
Sanjay Singh, sub-inspector, GRP, Dadri, said, “According to the victim’s family, he was not feeling well when he got on from Anand Vihar. The autopsy report also concluded that he died of a cardiac arrest.”
“Prasad was travelling with his 35-year-old daughter, Renu Devi, in a sleeper coach of the Hatiya-Anand Vihar express. The duo was on their way to Ranchi. The train departed at 9.45 pm and, around 10 pm, he complained of chest pain. By 10.15pm, the information was sent to the railway control room,” Prashant Kumar, a constable with the GRP, said.
He also said the train had no stop either in Ghaziabad or Dadri.
“Had we known about the matter earlier, we could have made an emergency stop in Ghaziabad. By the time we got to know about it, the train had crossed Ghaziabad. We immediately alerted the station master in Dadri, where the train halted for nearly 40 minutes. The station master called for a medical team and an ambulance, who declared Prasad dead as soon as he was brought off the train,” Kumar said.
On Sunday, a small group of locals protested against the alleged delay in providing medical aid. His body was handed over to the family after the autopsy, police said.
