Noida: Teacher accuses principal of ‘mental’ torture

A complaint was registered with the Sector 39 police station on Wednesday. The teacher has alleged that the principal has been harassing her by interfering with her work.

A mathematics teacher from Mahamaya Balika Inter College has lodged a police complaint against the principal of the institute for harassment.

A complaint was registered with the Sector 39 police station on Wednesday. The teacher has alleged that the principal has been harassing her by interfering with her work.

The woman also alleged that the principal has been “spying on her personal life which has caused her mental trauma”.

“Ruchika has alleged that there have been wrong entries in the attendance register to make it look like “wrong persons” have been visiting her. We are investigating the matter to verify her claims. She lives within the college compound,” said Abhinandan, Circle Officer, Noida City-1.

“The complainant has also alleged that the principal is troubling her on the directions of her husband as she had filed for divorce . These are the allegations and we have to investigate the matter,” said Ajay Kumar Singh, station house officer, Sector 39 police station.

Principal Pratibha Chaudhary, “There is a department enquiry on against her and one more woman. I am not aware of the motive behind her complaint. I don’t even know about any complaint being registered. I will look into the matter.”

Police took a legal opinion on the allegations made by Ruchika before registering an FIR. “We took the opinion of legal experts to see if we can act on the complaint,” Abhinandan said.

Police have registered a case under Section 193 (punishment for false evidence), 500 (punishment for defamation) and 509 (word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman).
