Nico Rosberg feels Mercedes F1 team should rope in Sebastian Vettel for 2018

Reigning Formula One champion Nico Rosberg, who is the frontrunner for the Laureus Breakthrough of the Year Award in Monaco, said he feels his former team, Mercedes, should logically consider former F1 champion Sebastain Vettel as one of its drivers in the 2018 season.
“Vettel’s Ferrari contract ends this year, he’d be a sensible option for Mercedes and one that I’m sure they’ll contemplate,” said Rosberg during a media interaction on Monday, a day before the Laureus Awards function.

Sebastian Vettel’s contract with Ferrari runs out at the end of this year.
Rosberg had stunned the world with his decision to quit Formula One just weeks after winning the FI driver’s championship with Mercedes last season.
Following Rosberg’s retirement, Mercedes roped in Valtteri Bottas from Williams to drive alongside Lewis Hamilton in the 2017 season. Hamilton’s current contract with Mercedes is valid till end of 2018 while Finnish driver Bottas, reportedly, has a short contract, possibly just a year long.
And as far as this year in concerned, Rosberg says Mercedes should have signed Fernando Alonso to drive alongside Hamilton. The two were teammates at McLaren in 2007 and things would have been fun if the pairing had happened again, feels Rosberg.
“As a fan of Formula One you could not hope for anything better. Alonso against Hamilton, ten years later, it would be a great show. But Bottas makes more sense for Mercedes.”
