Patna Pirates edge Tamil Thalaivas in Pro Kabaddi League
In a pulsating encounter, Pradeep Narwal-led Patna Pirates beat Tamil Thalaivas 41-39 in their Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) match on Wednesday.
Patna Pirates, led by Pradeep Narwal, conquered Tamil Thalaivas 41 – 39 in Match No. 86 of the 2017 Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) at the Harivansh Tana Bhagat Indoor Stadium in Ranchi on Wednesday.
It was a pulsating match in Ranchi with both teams exchanging leads. Tamil Thalaivas’ C Arun, who won the Player of the Match award, took the fight to Patna Pirates. However, raider Manu Goyat, who was in great form through the night, ensured Patna Pirates came out victorious.
Goyat, with 12, recorded the most number of raids in the match while Patna Pirates inflicted two ‘all-outs’ while Tamil Thalaivas could only manage one.
With the result, Patna Pirates lead the Zone B standings with 59 points from 16 matches. Tamil Thalaivas, who have played 11 matches, are bottom of the table with 22 points.
Earlier in the night, Gujarat Fortunegiants registered a 45-23 victory over U Mumba in their Pro Kabaddi League match .
Ranjit Chandran scored 11 raid points while Fazel Atrachali contributed six tackle points to lead Gujarat to a comfortable victory.
