Just 20 minutes of enthralling and high-intensity squash by local boy Saurav Ghosal spoilt an all-Egyptian semi-final party at the Kolkata International PSA squash championships at the Calcutta Racket Club on Friday.

Ghosal beat reigning junior world champion Amr Khaled Khalifa of Egypt in the quarter-finals to set up a penultimate round date against top-seed and world No. 3 Karim Darwish on Saturday. The 18-year-old Khalifa, who was suffering from "chest congestion", conceded the match after losing a tight first game and trailing 2-6 in the second.

In another upset, Egypt's Karim Abdel Gawad scripted the first major upset of the tournament when he defeated third seed and world No. 23 Ong Beng Hee of Malaysia in four games.
