India squandered an opportunity to win the women's World Chess Team Championship, losing 1-3 to Georgia, while China won the title despite losing to Ukraine 1.5-2.5 in the eighth round.

India squandered an opportunity to win the women's World Chess Team Championship, losing 1-3 to Georgia, while China won the title despite losing to Ukraine 1.5-2.5 in the eighth round.

Among other contenders Russia beat South Africa 4-0 but that could only catapult them to second position with no chance of catching up with China on board-points Monday. In other matches, Armenia defeated Vietnam and Greece defeated hosts Turkey.
