India had a disappointing day in office with Sayali Gokhale and PC Thulasi crashing out of the qualifying round of the women's singles event at the Asian Badminton Championship being held at the Suwon Indoor Stadium in Korea on Tuesday. National champion Sayali thrashed Mendjargal Munkhchimeg of Mongolia 21-8 21-4 in the first round but lost to Zhu Jingjing of China 21-17 21-13 in the next round.

Kerala’s PC Thulasi played her heart out against Taiwanese Pai Min Jie but could not get past her rival losing 9-21, 22-20, 7-21 in the first round.
