Jha, who stunned GM S. Kidambi on Friday, made short work of former world junior champion Abhijeet Gupta to take his tally to 4.5 points and gain sole charge of the top spot.

Top seed GN Gopal and national sub-junior champion Vidit Gujrathi were snapping at his heels, half a point behind. Gujrathi beat fellow IM Deep Sengupta to move to four points.
