On Sunday, after beating Commonwealth Games gold-medallist Akhil Kumar in the quarterfinals, Weaver had said the fight was his toughest so far. On Tuesday he said, "Overcoming Julie was easier than Kumar. Playing Kumar was a bit awkward. He was harder to hit and the Mauritian easier to capture. "I had my strategy in place for today's fight," said Weaver, who had a bruised eye. "This (the bruise) is not such a big price to pay for a gold."
