Pallikal wins Squash title
Dipika Pallikal brought to an end the spectacular run of Egyptian qualifier Yathreb Adel to claim the Orange County Open squash in California. World No. 24 Pallikal overcame resistance from Adel to win 11-6, 12-10, 11-9 to clinch her first WISPA title of the year.

Railways trial games
Rains made Railways shift their cricket trial games from Delhi to Varanasi. The games, beginning September 16, will form the basis for selecting Ranji squad. “The pitch in Delhi is being relaid and we want to protect it,” said an official.
