Relief for tainted athletes

The disciplinary committee of the National Anti-Doping Agency lifted the provisional suspension of the 10 dope-tainted athletes. The decision was taken following the World Anti-Doping Agency's (WADA) decision to shift the banned stimulant from 'non-specified' to the 'specified' substance category.

The disciplinary committee of the National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA) on Wednesday lifted the provisional suspension of the 10 dope-tainted athletes. The decision was taken following the World Anti-Doping Agency's (WADA) decision to shift the banned stimulant from 'non-specified' to the 'specified' substance category.

However, the athletes are still not eligible for selection as the final decision will be taken during the next hearing on Sep 25.

The list includes shotputter Saurabh Vij, netball player Megha Chaudhry, swimmers Richa Mishra and Jyotsana Pansare, wrestlers Rajiv Tomar, Sumit, Mausam Khatri and Gursharanpreet Kaur.
