Shagun Chowdhary fired the score of 69 to create a new national record in women's trap event at the Indian Masters Shooting Championship held in memory of Sardar Sajjan Singh Sethi here on Wednesday.

Shagun, who tallied a record score of 69 out of 75 in the qualifying rounds, aggregated 86 (69+17) to win the top honours at the New Moti Bagh Gun Club (NMBGC) shooting range here.
She eclipsed earlier record of 68 held by Seema Tomar at the 2007 Nationals.
Varsha Tomar (59+16=75) finished second while Seema Tomar (53+17=70) was third at the event being held under the aegis of National Rifle Association of India and Punjab Rifle and Shooting Association.
Among the juniors (women), Shreyasi Singh emerged the winner with the score of 64 (49+15) points.
Prominent among those who would take part in the championship include double trap shooter Lt Col Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, India's first individual silver medal winner in the 2004 Summer Olympics.
