Weightlifting coaches axed

As many as 14 weightlifting coaches have been suspended for two years for their wards returning dope positive in various national and international competitions, India Weightlifting Federation said.

Among the suspended coaches include S S Rao and RK Lanke of Services who had gone as coaches for Sukhen Dey and Anupdeo

Toppo who flunked dope tests during the Continental Club Grand Prix in Malaysia last December.

“The coaches have been suspended for their wards testing positive for banned drugs,” IWF General Secretary Sahadev Yadav told PTI.
