One suspected Al Qaeda terrorist carrying a Pakistani passport was arrested near here today, a senior police official said.

One suspected Al Qaeda terrorist carrying a Pakistani passport was arrested near here today, a senior police official said.

Acting on a tip-off, police raided a house in Purnia town, about 350 km from here, and captured Gulam Rasool alias Mirza, ADG(HQ) U S Dutt said.

Dutt said during interrogation Mirza had confessed that he had worked for Al Qaeda between 2004 and 2005.

Mirza was planning to sneak into Bangladesh through the Indo-Bangla border in Purnia district, the ADG said.
