"I am really pained and hurt at the way the list of 77 candidates of the party has been released in New Delhi without holding consultations with senior leaders... It has virtually ignored the claims of the genuine leaders of mass support in Congress in Bihar," Yadav told reporters in Patna.

The leader said he had decided to resign as Vice-Chairman of the Bihar Congress Poll Campaign Committee and soon hand over the letter in this regard to the state party chief Choudhary Mehbood Ali Kaiser.

"I am also free to take the future course of action... but I will highlight the issue of irregularities and politics which has led to denial of tickets to genuine workers, while continuing in the party," he said.
