Lalu suffers minor injury

RJD chief Lalu Prasad today sustained bruises in his hands when a podium erected at the Veer Kunwar Singh University in Ara, about 55 km from here, to facilitate him caved in due to overcrowding.

Prasad accompanied by senior party leaders, including Kanti Singh and Jagdanad Singh reached the venue and several party workers in their bid to garland him, followed him on the podium, which suddenly collapsed, police said.

Prasad was there to address the divisional conference of his party workers.

Doctors, who were present near the podium, attended on him and later, prasad addressed his party workers.

Kanti Singh and Jagdanand Singh, besides around 10 party activists also suffered minor injuries, the police said.
