Sushil Kumar Verma was shocked when his bank informed him that Rs. 352,541 had been taken away from his bank account and deposited in an American bank account, police said Saturday.

Verma, a former head of the department of plastic surgery of the Patna Medical College and Hospital, said he had lodged a complaint with police.

"I was speechless when I was informed by bank officials that a heavy amount was withdrawn from my account by some cyber criminals and deposited in Mitt Romney's election fund," Verma said.

He said the illegal withdrawal took place Oct 10.

"It took me weeks to get details of this cyber fraud."

Patna superintendent of police Jayant Kant said the cyber crime cell will probe the case.
