Farah Naaz Hashmi, commonly credited as Farah, is the elder sister of Tabu. She was one of the prominent actors in Bollywood in the late eighties and early nineties. Farah made her debut with Faasle in 1985. The film, produced and directed by Yash Chopra, featured Sunil Dutt, Rekha, Farooq Shaikh, Deepti Naval, Rohan Kapoor, Farah, Raj Kiran, Sushma Seth and Aloknath.

Farah married actor Vindu Dara Singh in 1996, with whom she has a son Fateh Randhawa, who was born in 1997. The two divorced in 2002. She later married actor Sumeet Saigal in 2003.

Did you know Farah was born to Jamal Ali Hashmi and Rizwana in a Hyderabadi Muslim family. Her father was an actor in Pakistan, while her mother (pictured here along with a young Tabu) is the cousin of veteran actor Shabana Azmi.
