The central government has decided to develop the Kartarpur Sahib corridor from Dera Baba Nanak in Punjab’s Gurdaspur district till the gurdwara in Pakistan.This was announced today by the Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley at a press briefing in New Delhi. The Bombay High Court on Thursday dismissed an appeal by liquor baron Vijay Mallya seeking a stay on the Enforcement Directorate’s request before a trial court to initiate proceedings against him under the Fugitive Economic Offenders Act. Seven school children and the driver of a van they were travelling in were killed while travelling towards Barsinghpur, some 450 km northeast of Bhopal, after their vehicle collided with a bus plying between Rewa and Chitrakoot, in Madhya Pradesh’s Satna district, police said. (PTI)
