Eminent journalist and author Kuldip Nayar, who fiercely fought for press freedom and protecting civil liberties, passed away on Thursday. He was 95. Nayar, known as a crusader for civil rights and press freedom, worked in several newspapers including as editor in the Statesman and Indian Express. According to the 2018 World Population Data Sheet released by the Population Reference Bureau, India’s population will likely be 8% more than that of China, by mid-2030 and by mid-2050, this ‘lead’ will become 25%.
