Photos: India at 11.55 lakh Covid-19 cases a day after record 40K spike

Data from the Union Health Ministry on July 21 shows that India has recorded a total of 11.55 lakh Covid-19 cases, a day after posting a record surge of over 40,000 cases for the first time since the outbreak of the disease. The country has simultaneously seen improvements in its case fatality rate (CFR) which fell below 2.5% over the weekend and which experts say points to the country’s effective management of the pandemic. The overall testing figures have also recorded an improvement and the country has now crossed the 10,000 tests per million mark
