In pics | Sikh devotees gather to celebrate Guru Nanak Jayanti eve

A day ahead of Guru Nanak Jayanti, Sikh devotees were seen carrying Guru Granth Sahib - the holy book in Sikhism - in a special golden palanquin, during a procession on Monday. The founder of the Sikh religion, Guru Nanak Dev was one of the first ten Sikh gurus and is believed to have brought enlightenment to the world. Every year, his birth anniversary is observed across the world like a festival with much pomp to celebrate his teachings and legacy.
