Ukrainians celebrated 31 years of independence from the Soviet Union on Wednesday, even as the day coincided with the six-month timeline of the Russian invasion which began in February. On the occasion, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy - in a video address - said that his country would resist the invasion "until the end" without "any concession or compromise” as he branded Russia a “terrorist” for the atrocities in his country. European countries have pledged unwavering support for the war-torn country as they celebrated Ukrainian independence day. While the celebrations were held in a muted manner in Kyiv, people across Europe were seen waving giant Ukrainian flags.
