Ethnic Tibetans in traditional dress participate in the event. The festival was suspended for several years following a 2010 earthquake in Yushu which killed some 2,700 people. Yushu is famous for its many dances and for its annual horse festivals held each summer. It is one of the largest in Tibet. (AFP)
