Photos: Mass protests break out in US over George Floyd’s death

George Floyd, a 46-year-old African American man, died in Minneapolis on May 25 while he was being restrained by the police. The death triggered violent unrest in Minneapolis and mass protests are taking place in California, New York, Ohio and Colorado. Video footage of the incident, which was broadcast by the media, showed an officer kneeling on Floyd’s neck as he gasped for breath.
