The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has failed to solved Pune’s issues despite being in power at the civic body, the state level and the Centre, said Ajit Pawar, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader and former deputy chief minister on Thursday.
Pawar, while speaking about various issues during a press conference, said that the citizens have given a clear majority to the BJP. “Despite having clear mandate, the BJP has no control over the administration of the city. The garbage containers are overflowing and the citizens are facing water problems, but the ruling party is not doing anything to solve them,” said Pawar.
Even Union minister Nitin Gadkari said that local leaders are not doing, said Pawar.
Pawar said that ruling party leaders are meeting celebrities. While there is no harm in meeting celebrities like Madhuri Dixit and Lata Mangeshkar, but at the same time they need to meet common citizens to understand their issues.
Pawar said that though both the BJP and the Shiv Sena are at loggerheads with each other, it is clear that both the parties will forge an alliance in the upcoming Lok Sabha and assembly elections. Both the parties are well aware that if there is no alliance, they will lose power.
At every occasion, the BJP neglected and humiliated the Shiv Sena leaders since the past four years, but now as they are visiting Uddhav Thackeray, said Pawar.
Pawar said he is curious how the Shiv Sena will take revenge of the humiliating treatment meted out to them by the BJP. Now, its the Shiv Sena’s turn to dominate. He also added that for the Congress and the Nationalist Congress Party, senior leaders will take the decision regarding the alliance.
