Festive season: Pune civic body forms grievance redressal centre for noise pollution, illegal pandals
Anti-encroachment department head Madhav Jagtap said, “The court had instructed all the municipal corporations to start the grievance redressal centre for noise pollution and other difficulties during the festival times. It is mandatory for all the mandals to take necessary permission from the PMC and police for erecting pandals during the festivals.”
As instructed by the Bombay High Court, the Pune municipal corporation (PMC) has started the citizens grievance redressal centre for filing complaints regarding noise pollution and pandals during the upcoming dahi handi, Ganesh festival, Muharram and Navratri.

Considering this, the municipal corporation had started all these facilities in the city. Citizens can file the complaints regarding illegal pandals and noise pollution with the PMC.
Jagtap said that the Ganesh mandals will need to submit their applications for pandals before September 7. They can even file the application online on www.punecorporation.in/online_parwana.
Meanwhile, the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena’s city unit president Ajay Shinde demanded to allow advertisements on pandals for Ganesh mandals in the city. Shinde said that it has become difficult for Ganesh mandals to manage expenses as on one hand the donations have been brought down and on the other, PMC is restricting advertisements on pandals. It is wrong and police and PMC should give permission for it, he added.
