Leopard spotted in Aundh, defence issues advisory to staff

Defence officials have issued a notice urging its staff and residents in the campus to avoid travelling alone in the area after a leopard was spotted on the premises of Controllerate of Quality Assurance, Aundh (CQAE) in Aundh.

DP Sana, security officer, has issued the precautionary to various departments and asked to take necessary care.

The precautionary issued by Sana said, “It has been informed by staff and officers of defence standardisation cell that one wild cat (leopard) has been noticed by them behind defence standardisation cell building on May 13, 2019. All officers and staff are advised to be alert and not to go in lonely areas.”

The premises of Controllerate of Quality Assurance, Aundh, is accessible to the common public. After the leopard was spotted, the area has been closed for residents. The security officials confirm that the gates are closed as a precautionary measure.

Controllerate of Quality Assurance, Aundh is spread over a hundred acres and houses residents of officers and servants quarters, besides forests. Meanwhile, the officials of the forest department did not have any information about the same.
