NCP corporator in Pune disqualified for giving fake certificates

In what may seem like a major blow to the Nationalist Congress Party, municipal commissioner Kunal Kumar on Wednesday disqualified the membership of corporator Kishor Dhankawade for submitting bogus caste certificate.

Dhankawade submitted the fake caste certificate while filing the nomination. following the directions from election commission the municipal commissioner disqualified corporator Dhankawade. 

PMC elections were held in February 2017. Dhankawade won the election from Panel 39 (A) located in Dhankawadi area. 

Meanwhile, Dhankawade said that he had approached the court and challenged the decision of caste validity committee. Municipal commissioner working under BJP's pressure disqualified him without waiting for court's decision. 

Dhankawade contested election in Other Backward Caste (OBC) category and submitted the certificate of Kunbi caste. The Bhor Sub Divisional Office said the caste certificate was bogus and not valid. Even caste validity committee rejected it. 

As per the caste validity committee's report state election commission given directives to the municipal commissioner. Kunal Kumar issued the order on Wednesday to disqualify him as a member. There are 47 members of the NCP in the PMC which will now come down to 46 after this decision.
