On beat to arrest an absconder, Pune constable runs for his ‘own life’

The policeman and his colleague, who were on a two-wheeler, tried to stop the criminal who was driving a car, but the latter tried to hit the two-wheeler.

A police constable who had gone to arrest an absconding criminal had to face a life-threatening situation when the accused tried to run him over in his car in Ambe Khurd on Tuesday.

Fortunately, the constable escaped with minor injuries.

According to the police, constable Vijay More and his colleague had gone to arrest Badal Ram Kumbhar (32) and one of his associates in connection with a murder case lodged against them.

The policemen, who were on a two-wheeler, tried to stop Badal who was driving a car, but the latter tried to hit the two-wheeler.

Constable Vijay escaped with minor injuries and was admitted to a nearby private hospital. Assistant police inspector SP Yadav is investigating the case.
