Outstanding female students in Pune to be presented with Chhabria awards
One category of the award will be given to a graduating female student, with exemplary academic merit throughout her undergraduate years, in addition to substantial contribution to the institute,university and the community.
Two awards to recognise outstanding female students specifically from the faculties of science, engineering or technology, have been instituted by the Hope Foundation and Research Centre in memory of legendary industrialist PP Chhabria.

The ‘late Shri Pralhad P Chhabria awards’ have been instituted in association with the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers, India Council and Women in Engineering Affinity Group Pune section. The association was recently signed at IIT Roorkee, following the formal announcement.
One category of the award will be given to a graduating female student, with exemplary academic merit throughout her undergraduate years, in addition to substantial contribution to the institute,university and the community.
The second category of the award, will be given to a woman who has achieved substantial success at an early stage of her career, while simultaneously contributing to the economic development of the country.
PP Chhabria, founder chairman of Finolex Group and founder president of Hope Foundation and Research Centre, believed that the country’s future is based on quality education and women’s empowerment. It is this vision that has driven the inception of these awards.
February 10 is the deadline for sending the applications for the awards. The final announcement will be made on March 12, 2018. The winning individuals will be given a medal, a citation and a cash prize of ₹1,25,000.
