200 people and various religious leaders in Pune condemn Sri Lanka terror attacks

A condolence meet and a candle light vigil was organised at the Bishop’s school ground, Camp

To condemn the terrorist attack in Sri Lanka, which took place on April 21, a condolence meet and a candle light vigil was organised at the Bishop’s school ground, Camp. Religious leaders were present for the meet.

Thomas Dabre, Bishop of Pune said, “There is need of peace in our world and that cannot win over life. In this situation hope, happiness, courage and comfort are needed to be strong.”

Adward Nowsherwan Dastoor, a Parsi religious leader, said, “We are concerned about the people in Sri Lanka. We are here to support and offer condolence to them.”

Pandit Vasantrao Gadgil recited prayers in Sanskrit. He said, “We have to end this enmity and have world peace. I was in Sri Lanka 50 years ago and it is a beautiful country.”

Maulana Mufti Ahmed Hussain from Azam Campus who was also present said, “ God will always test us in all the ways and the results will be good when we keep patience. We condemn this attack.”

The condolence meet was attended by at least 200 people from various communities. Congress leader, Ramesh Bagawe was also present.
