The varsity has significantly improved its standing as it was placed 188th last year. The ranking of universities was announced by Times Higher Education on Thursday.
Nitin Karmalkar, vice-chancellor, SPPU, said, “It is a big achievement for us and we can say that the university is growing in the right direction. An important point to be noted here is that SPPU has outperformed universities that scored higher in National Institute Ranking Framework (NIRF).”
SPPU stood 10th among universities across the country in the NIRF rankings that was declared on April 8. While SPPU scored a total of 36.4 points in THE ranking, it stands 6th in the country-wise ranking of top 10 higher educational institutes in India.
Times Higher Education world university rankings 2019 include more than 1,250 universities across the globe. In the last two years, SPPU has managed to secure its position in 501-600 universities global rankings, compared to its previous ranking between 600-800 positions.
