Teacher of Pune school booked for physically assaulting student

A case against the accused has been filed under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Juvenile Justice Act

The Vishrantwadi police on Tuesday booked a schoolteacher for allegedly physically assaulting a student. The incident took place at an international school in Tingrenagar on Friday.

The complaint was filed by the victim’s grandfather. Arun Awhad, senior inspector at Vishrantwadi police station, said, “We have registered a case. The accused allegedly threw the duster at another student who was misbehaving in the class, but it hit the victim.”

According to the complaint, the teacher failed to give first aid to the victim, and did not inform his parents about the incident. A case against the accused has been filed under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Juvenile Justice Act.
