Three booked for sexually assaulting woman in Pune

The accused repeatedly raped a 28-year-old woman over a span of two months

The Pimpri-Chinchwad police booked three men on Saturday for allegedly repeatedly raping a 28-year-old woman over a span of two months.

The police are currently on the lookout for the accused, identified as Matin Rashid Sayyed, his brother, Mohseen Rashid Sayyed and his brother-in-law Hamed Siddiqui, all residents of Aurangabad.

According to the victim, the series of events took place between November 26, 2018 and February 24.

As per the complaint, Matin Sayyed offered to drive the victim and her two children to Aurangabad, as her mother was ailing. However, Matin stopped at various places on the way and allegedly took the victim to a lodge.

The woman alleged that he eventually confined her to a house in Aurangabad where she was ingested with drugs and sexually assaulted repeatedly. The man also allegedly took her signature on a blank paper.

A case under Sections 328 (causing hurt by means of poison with intent to commit an offence), 354(a) (sexual harassment), 344 (wrongful confinement for ten or more days), 376 (sexual assault) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of Indian Penal Code has been registered at Chakan police station against the three men. MT Shinde, police sub inspector of Chakan police station is investigating the case.
