2-day business conference begins at MM Modi College

Faculty of commerce and management at MM Modi College hosted a two-day international business conference in collaboration with the Punjab Commerce and Management Association (PCMA), at its campus here on Friday.

Faculty of commerce and management at MM Modi College hosted a two-day international business conference in collaboration with the Punjab Commerce and Management Association (PCMA), at its campus here on Friday.

It is themed 'India's Development Story in the Backdrop of Fast Evolving Global, Economic and Political Scenario'.

Central University, Bathinda, vice chancellor Dr RK Kohli emphasised the need to redesign education system according to the needs of society. He stressed on establishing links between development and sustainability. Development cannot sustain if it impacts the environment and natural resources negatively, he said.

In the second session, Prem Kumar, PCMA president emeritus, CR Bector, Jagdish Khatri, DS Ubha, principal of Khalsa College, Patiala, and Tajinder Singh of Punjabi University held a panel on the conference theme.

We have to appreciate the working of various sectors of the economy, changes in the manner in which business is managed with the introduction of new technology, societal preferences due to increase in the number of middle class families as well as the agenda of political parties, the speakers said.

Earlier, College principal Khushvinder Kumar welcomed the guests.
