In her complaint, the woman (32), a resident of Talwandi village, said that after the demise of her husband, she had been working as a domestic help and has then developed an acquaintance with the accused.

She alleged to have been raped on December 10. Her son was allegedly kidnapped after she refused to maintain further relationship with the accused.

Ladhowal SHO sub-inspector Randhir Singh said the police had registered a case under Section 363 (punishment for kidnapping), 365 (kidnapping with intent to confine person) and 376 (punishment for rape) against the accused and he had been arrested. On Saturday, the accused was remanded to two-day police custody.
