4-day dry spell to be followed by rainy weekend in Chandigarh

Temperature is likely to go up to 41°C on Wednesday.

While tricity residents won’t get any respite from the heat through the week, the weekend is likely to be promising as the Met department has predicted light showers by the end of the week. However, over the next fours days, the city will witness clear skies and temperature is likely to go up to 41°C on Wednesday.

“The temperature is expected to go up to 42 degrees during the week,” an official at IMD said. The last time the temperature crossed the 42-degree mark was on May 30 when the maximum temperature recorded was 42.5°C.

Meanwhile, on Monday the city recorded a maximum temperature of 38.7°C, which was slightly more than Sunday’s 37.2°C. The minimum temperature witnessed a small rise from 27.1°C to 27.4°C.

Humidity levels also came down to 80% Sunday’s maximum of 87%. The minimum humidity, however, came down to 33% from 50%.

Pre monsoon showers are also scheduled in the third week of June and monsoon is scheduled to start early this year in the last week of June.
